Best of 2008

This year I photographed the Pennsylvania's High School Outdoor State Track Meet at Shippensburg University for Don Rich of http://www.penntrackxc.com/
Relays
Long jump & hurdles
Javelin
Pole Vault
These are some of my favorite photos of my husband, Toby, and our two dogs, Giuseppe and Oliver.

Toby
I took the next two photos of a squirrel that was looking in our kitchen window eating from our bird feeder. He was so funny!

This summer my husband and I went to NYC for a few days and these are the photos I took at the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens.
These two photos are of the gorillas there at the zoo.

Lemurs

Snow leopard and polar bear

Peacock, tiger, and monkey
Roses from the Peggy Rockefeller Memorial Rose
Garden at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
Also this year, I photographed the Pennsylvania High School Indoor Track meet (once again for Don Rich).
Ladies Relay
The first photo is of a lady about to get set up at the start line for a relay. The second photo is of a girl after she finished her long jump but she didn't do very well and made this face at me when she finished.
Track & Field participants wear some of the wildest shoes. Every person wore a different and unique pair of shoes. Also, there is a shot of the finish line.
I work at the Army War College, which is a school for some of the top military personnel in the country. Students can earn a Masters degree while they are here. This is a student and his family.

I had the honor of photographing my cousin's wedding this year (see Best of Weddings (Part 2) and these are photos from their engagement session.

During the campaign season for President, Hillary Clinton came to the Harrisburg, PA and spoke to a large crowd of people.

My husband's maternal side of the family has a huge family reunion over 4th of July every year out near Pittsburgh and everyone camps out for the long holiday weekend. Here's the group photo of all of us.
Some of our family members and their black pug, Monty.
I took these photos of some of our family. She was 4 months pregnant with twins!
Then we all watch a fireworks show.

The Kistlers

I photographed the Kistlers and their three precious dogs at their beautiful historic home yesterday. I think the photos turned out great and I was able to get all three dogs to look at me at the same time (the treats helped)!

Restoration

Last weekend, my father-in-law's best buddy from his Marine days in Vietnam came to visit. They looked through their old photos and I said I could fix them up if they would like. He was about to leave and said he wanted this one done but needed it before he left. I drove home , scanned the photo and had about 5 minutes to work on it and then printed it on my photo printer. This is how it turned out. If you have a prized photo that needs some work, give me a call and I can restore it for you. I brought out the color, sharpened the image and corrected all the frayed edges and places that had turned yellow with time. My father-in-law, Joseph, is on the top row second from the left. I'm always so grateful for his sacrifice to serve his country and all the others in our military. I hope they all have a safe and wonderful holiday and know that all those at home are praying for their safe return.

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! This is our family Christmas photo at our house. My mother-in-law came and snapped the photo after I set up the camera on a tri-pod. From left to right is my husband , Toby, our 7 year old pit bull, Giuseppe, me, and our 4 year old pug, Oliver. While we were decorating our Christmas tree, I plugged in a stand of lights to see if they still worked and laid them down on the sofa. Our pug, Oliver, decided to lay in the middle of them. He's too funny!

Presidential Visit

President Bush came to my work yesterday. I work on a military installation which is home to the Army War College and he came to speak to the students here. It was an exciting time, but only one photographer (my boss) got a pass to photograph him, so I didn't even see him. I just saw his motorcade bring him onto the base as families waved American flags and held signs. I took this photo with my camera after I left work (I am not allowed to post photos I take for my work). They changed the marque at the movie theater (which was showing the movie times for this weekend's show W., the movie about the President).

Best of Weddings 2008 (Part 2)

Part 2 of some of my favorite photographs from great locals this year. I photographed the Unkefer wedding in Fredericksburg, Virginia along a river bank on a beautiful fall afternoon. The day couldn't have been more perfect for this wonderful couple!
My favorite shot of the day!
I hung the wedding gown in a tree to show off the river flowing behind it.
