Anthony's Infant Baptism

Beautiful baby Anthony had his infant baptism on Sunday, August 23rd at St. Patrick's Church in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The ceremony was so sweet. The moments shared between mother, father and child, as well as the child with his new Godparents, were so precious. It was an honor to be invited to the baptism and then backyard party at his maternal grandparents house.

Then it was time to celebrate! The maternal grandparents
had a party in their house. This is Anthony (only one of his
first times in the pool) with his dad.

It was truly a joy for me to photograph this event for our friends and I think the pictures show what a special moment this was for all of them.

Delaware Photog Shootout (Part 3 of 3)

For the last photos from the Photog Shoot Out, I got to work on more posing and then a spontaneous shoot that most of the photographers didn't even know about because it wasn't even on the agenda for the day. For the first group of photos, the girl hadn't modeled before but by the end of it she looked like a pro. She was game for anything and that's all a photographer can hope for of their subject. So, if you are reading this and want to book a photo session, come to it with a fun attitude and be willing to try anything and I can guarantee that you will be pleased with the photos.




As everyone was going inside to the pizza place for the end of the day, there were a few of us in the back of the pack. Someone saw the car parked on the street and the models just sat on it and as cars were driving by watching and honking at us. It was a site for sure, three beautiful women on a great sports car. The colors were all vibrant and the girls really vamped it up. Great job ladies!

Delaware Photog Shootout (Part 2 of 3)

So, as promised I'm continuing to show more of my photographs from the photography workshop/seminar Photog Shootout. First up are two models that we posed as if they were a couple getting their engagement session done. They were troupers and though they felt awkward at first, as we went along with more instructions from the photographer who was leading the group, they began to relax and have fun (and they looked like a real couple by the end of it). Each of us students got to take turns posing them and trying new stuff out, so these are my photos from my turn of having them pose for me.




Then it was time to switch instructors and models. My favorite photos of the day are in this next section. The model was beautiful and totally comfortable in front of our cameras. She definitely knew how to work it! I think the stylists put together a great ensemble and the hair was awesome.

Delaware Photog Shoutout (Part 1 of 3)

On Monday, August 10th I drove out to Newark, Delaware for a photography workshop called Photog Shootout. Rob Nicholson of Humbled Eyes Photography (a photographer based out of Delaware) founded it and now there have been shootouts held all over the country. It is a great way for photographers to get together, shoot, network, and learn. There were about 60 photographers that showed up despite 98-degree temperatures (with a heat index in the hundreds). First we divided into groups, each with a great photographer leading the group to teach a different subject (such as natural lighting, posing, and helping the subject elicit emotion). We photographed at the University of Delaware outside on campus for 4 hours. There were hairstylists, make-up artists, models, clothing stylists, and great teachers (working professional photographers) all on hand to make for a great photo shoot. I had a blast, though it was one tiring day (I worked at my day job for four hours till noon, drove the 3 hours to Delaware, shot for 4 hours, then went to a pizza joint and ate and had a question & answer session and discussion group until 10 pm and drove the 3 hours back to Pennsylvania. I hope there will be more of these groups within driving distance of where I live, because I would do all over again in a minute! Then I switched groups to learn about posing and got to photograph
our model Cacia Batts, who was crowned Mrs. Delaware 2009.

After the portraits at the church were finished, the bridal party left in a limousine for the reception. Then the bridal party was introduced by the DJ as they came in to join the party. The happy couple immediately went and cut the wedding cake.

After everyone finished eating dinner, the bride and
groom shared their first dance as husband and wife.

At the end of the evening, it was time to toss the bouquet and garter.

who by the end of the evening was wearing fuzzy slippers.
