Porfolio (Best of Animals - Part 5 of 7)

Everyone that knows me knows I am an advocate for animals, all animals. I have dedicated my life to many animal causes including being a dog walker, cat watcher and animal washer at animals shelters everywhere I have lived since I was ten years old. I started going to animal shelters with my parents who instilled volunteerism in me from a young age. My parents also always had many pets, most of whom where adopted from shelters and one that was on the news for being abused who had been beaten by its owner with a baseball bat and had it's legs and spine all broken. They adopted him, payed for multiple surgeries and we had him all of my young childhood from the time I was 1 until age 10. He shaped my world view of those who abuse animals from a young age and we named him Huggy Bear because he loved to lay on the ground and have me and my sister hug all over him on the ground even after he was hurt so deeply by other humans. He was a 100 lb. Old English Sheepdog and he was my first pet. We always had multiple cats and dogs in our home and rode horses as a family because my sister used it as therapeutic sessions for her intellectual and developmental disabilities (or IDD). Animals helped her tremendously and she is much more high functioning because of them. She now has two pugs and my husband and I have a pug and a new pit bull rescue puppy after losing our older rescued pit bull to cancer last year. Currently, I give my voice to pit bull causes after falling in love with my now-husband's 4 year old pit bull when we began dating. They are truly the most misunderstood breed of dog and I vow to do all that I personally can to change that. I also volunteer my photography to the foster care animal rescue, Furry Friends Network, where I do professional portraits of their veteran animals to help give them a better profile on their website in the hopes that they find a forever home more quickly. navy base where I worked in Philadelphia.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! This day started out special for me as a little girl when my father said he would always be the man in mine and my sister's life no matter what. He cherished his little girls to the day that he died (far too young at age 57 in January 2006). Now I have my 2 fur babies - Oliver (the pug) and Louie (the rescue - English bulldog/American Staffordshire Terrier Cross). Here is my custom Facebook Timeline Cover I made for the holiday. May you all have a day surrounded by all the people and pets that you love and that love you!

Merry Christmas 2015

From my family to yours, I hope you have a Happy Holiday season!

My Christmas card this year includes my new puppy, Louie (who I rescued from Mommy and Me Rescue in Shamokin, Pennsylvania in January this year. I did a genetic test for him since he has had a lot of health issues and learned he is a American Staffordshire Terrier and English Bulldog mix), and our 11 years old pug, Oliver. I design and print all of mine and my client's holidays cards personally, so please keep that in mind for next year. Best, Lizzie

Louie - 6 months old

Our new English bulldog/American Staffordshire Terrier puppy that I adopted from a rescue organization turned 6 months old on May 5, 2015 and he now weighs 41 pounds (he has gained 10 pounds a month since we got him 3 months ago weighing just 10 pounds). He has had some major health issues and he's been to two different vets and had lots of tests run to figure out what turns out to be a bladder condition that he might grow out of with time or he could have the trouble forever they just can't be certain. So I wait and hope it gets better (which I have already seen a slight bit of improvement so I am hopeful). Here are some puppy portraits I took of him in my back yard. He's just so darn cute! He smiles all the time and wags his tail (what I call his "happy butt"). He is the sweetest puppy in the world and I am so glad that the rescue organization found him and rescued him from a very abusive situation and that he went to a very good home where he has unconditional love from both me.

He just loves to play fetch and he's great at it.

On January 28,  I drove about 1.5 hours to Shamokin, Pennsylvania to an animal rescue, Mommy and Me Rescue, to adopt this little guy. His original name was Myles but I re-named him Louie. He was 10 pounds when I adopted him and he is just precious. He was born on November 5, 2014 and was 10 weeks old when I picked him up. He has had a lot of health issues as well. Ilove him tremendously already for only having him a few months! He melted my heart when we saw his pictures. He had a traumatic start to life having his previous owners kill his mother and all his siblings but one were fed to snakes when they were born. The rescue found the two puppies being illegally sold on Craigslist and stepped in and bought them and found them a foster family who cared for them both until they got adopted. Otis is his little brother and he too went to a great family. Now on to the photos of this precious little guy who stole my heart after I lost my dog, Zeppie, on Sept. 25, 2014. I needed some joy, cuddling, kisses and laughter in our house since I was missing Zeppie so much and Louie has done all of that and then some since I brought him home to his forever home. Please only adopt rather than buying from pet stores or breeders. Save a life!

These are pictures I took of Louie at about 12 weeks old

in the snow in our back yard. He has grown 10 pounds every

month since I brought him home.

He's just a beautiful dog. So loving and sweet too!
